Gloria Greaves

I have been an acrylic painter since 1987.  It wasn’t until I retired from teaching that I attended my first convention NET in Providence, RI.  Spending way too much money and having way too much fun. It was also when I became a CMOT, a cerified Mary Owens teacher. I always tell everyone that if I had started with Mary I don’t think I would have  been an acrylic painter. For several years I traveled with Mary to conventions in Ohio, Nevada, Washington and of course NET. Since Mary retired I have been teaching and designing. And I love every minute.

Sandi Greco

I have a very active home Studio in Clarence, NY. I have been teaching decorative painting for 41 years, all levels from beginners to Advanced painters, all styles and techniques. I have taught at many conventions, for Chapters and via Zoom. I have been published in PAINTING WORLD MAGAZINE and have packets available at Pinecraft, Inc., as well as on my website. Teaching and designing are my passions.

CHERYL HUGHES

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I draw inspiration from the scenic beauty of the Maine coast and the vibrant art community of Florida, where I now spend much of my time. The contrast between these two places fuels my creativity, allowing me to put my own unique spin on the landscapes, seascapes, and the world around me.

The ocean has always been a deep source of inspiration for me—its ever-changing moods, its creatures, and the sense of wonder it evokes. In my work, I use imagination and color to create whimsical worlds—happy places that offer a perfect escape from everyday life.

As an avid plein air artist, I thrive on observing my surroundings, capturing the spontaneity of nature in real-time. These experiences then influence my studio work, where I transform reality into something more imaginative, playful, and full of life.

Ultimately, my hope is that my art brings a smile to the viewer’s face and offers a moment of joy—an invitation to step into a world where color and whimsy reign.

DEBBIE JORDAN

Debbie Jordan began her decorative painting journey when she saw a project by Priscilla Hauser in an issue of CRAFTS magazine. She found a local teacher who taught in oils and started taking class. Later, there was another teacher who came along, and she began taking a class in acrylics as well When both teachers stopped holding she classes, she began teaching in both mediums. She was a member of the Tar Heel Decorative artist and organized and launched a new chapter of SDP; Olde English Painter’s Guild. Debbie was a demonstrator for Rupert Gibbon and Spider and demonstrated silk painting throughout the country for them. Debbie also served as a demonstrator for Binney and Smith; the owners of Crayon and Liquitex. Her first decorative painting convention class was at HOOT in the 1980s followed by classes at the Creative Painting conventions in Las Vegas. After a long hiatus, Debbie returned to teaching at painting conferences in 2014 at the APC Expo in Chattanooga and the OKC Painting Palooza. Debbie finds color theory and the mechanics of design to be fascinating and spent the last few years learning everything she can on the subjects. She prefers dry media these days.

NANCY SCOTT CDA

I have been a decorative artist for over 30 years achieving my CDA from the Society of Decorative Painters in 1994. “I have been teaching and designing for more than two decades. I love to teach painting especially to beginners and those new to our art form. I especially enjoy teaching Into to Oils every year at New England Traditions. I believe a good foundation in the basic techniques is the key to success along with lots of practice, of course! I have been travel teaching for many years and now do most of my “travel teaching” via Zoom. I have had my original designs published in decorative painting magazines. What I most love about decorative painting is the wonderful friends that I have made along my artistic journey.
