Community Service Project

give kids the arts

our work

Kids today are closed in, lacking human interaction, and riddled with anxieties.

Research shows a global surge in the number of young people reporting symptoms of clinical depression. Our schools are strained, canceling art programs when they need them most. We’re on a mission to change that.

Only 12% of public high schools offered one of the four arts disciplines, and only 17% offered all four. It has been proven that students who study art are 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and 3 times more likely to be awarded for school attendance.

It all started when…..

The New england decorative Artists, Inc. (Cape Cod Mayflower Decorative Artist, Capitolers, Sea Strokes, White Mountain, Yankee Artist Guild, Hudson Valley Tole and Decorative Painters, Goldfinch) decided to start doing a combined Community Service Project. We have chosen Give Kids the Arts Organization as our recipient for our combined Community Service Project. We have purchased over 100 tote bags which have been distributed amongst our Guild members to be painted and filled with art supplies for children. The finished bags will be brought to NET and filled then donated. We are most grateful to Holly Hanley for donating her time and talents to this project. Holly Hanley taught her dream, believe & create project via ZOOM on August 28. Guild members who were not able to paint with holly were given access to the recording of the ZOOM in addition to paint a design of their choice on the bags.

Thank you Holly Hanley!
